    What Do You Believe?

One extremely important part of marriage is that the two of you should understand one another’s beliefs. Now, if you were both saved before you got married then you should already know one another’s views on salvation. In fact, that should have been one of the first conversations you had when dating. However, you may not know your husband’s views on everything in the Bible, or how to raise kids, or political beliefs, or how we should live as Christians. Now, I’m not saying you need to go grab your husband and say, “Babe, Tara says that we need to sit down for the next 5 hours and discuss everything we…

    10 Ways to Fight Fair

Being a Christian doesn’t mean life will go perfectly or that you’ll never fight with your husband. We are two different people living in the same house day in and day out, we’re going to fight sometimes. Now, I do believe that if you are fighting every day, you may need to seek marital counseling because that isn’t healthy or normal, but fighting once in a while is just human nature. However, as godly married people, we do need to learn how to fight fair. So, below I’m listing 10 ways that we can fight, but fight fair! 1. No Yelling My mom always taught me that once you start…

    Monday’s Encouragement: God Will Deliver

Friend, Whatever you are going through in your life right now, whatever promises God has made, He will deliver. He will deliver on His promises and He will bring you out of any bad situation you’re in, in His perfect timing. It’s hard to wait and it’s even harder to wait with a good attitude. I know, we’ve been having to wait on a promise for almost two years now. And sometimes I’ve waited with a good attitude and sometimes I’ve waited with a bad attitude, but I’ve still had to wait because God will not change His timing based on our attitude. His timing is perfect and it won’t…

    Sunday’s Prayer: Open Doors

Heavenly Father, We know that Your will, Your plan, and Your timing are perfect. As Your children, we ask that You will open the right doors in our lives so that we know which path You want us to take. Close doors we shouldn’t go through, and leave only one open – the one You want us to enter. Help us to see these doors, to have an open mind not clouded by personal wants and desires or fear, and to be obedient to You in all things. We love You, Abba! In Jesus’ powerful and faithful name, we pray. Amen

Saturday Thoughts: Trusting God through Disappointment

I’ve told you guys before how Justin (my husband) and I have been trusting God ever since we moved to TN. We’ve been living by faith and I have constantly sought God’s will and plan for our lives. Last month I thought the Lord told me something, that a financial miracle was coming by the end of April. And I mean, I heard it multiple times when I was spending my quiet time with Him. When it didn’t come, I thought the Lord told me He was testing my faith and that the miracle would arrive within the week because I passed the test. A week has gone by and…

    Gift of Miraculous Powers

When Jesus and His disciples performed miracles, they were using miraculous powers. Now, certainly the gift of healing is part of the miraculous powers, but those with this particular gift can do other things as well. Jesus said that those who came after Him and believed in Him would be able to do even more than what He had done in His short ministry on earth: Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may…

    Friday Fun Day: Redbox Movies

On April 13th I listed some Redbox movies, so now I’m going to make a new list in case you want to have a movie night! Also, check out my previous list and get some more ideas. I actually read this entire book series years ago when they first came out and they were great. I’ve only seen the first movie and it was pretty good, though as almost always happens, the book was better. I still need to see these two movies and when I do I’ll give you my rating. But Rotten Tomatoes gave The Scorch Trials a 46% and 54% of users said they liked it; and…

Before I get started, I want to apologize for not making a video today. I have a cold and only really have the energy to do a few written posts before I’ll need to rest again. But I should be able to make a video next week! One thing that really bothers me about people, and what I wanted to discuss today, is when we are hypocrites. And guess what? It isn’t just Christians that can be hypocrites. All people have been this way at one point or another: you tell someone to do something, or not to do it, but you yourself are doing it, or not doing it.…

    The Gift of Healing

I’m not sure why some Christians seem to think that the gift of healing was only for the original disciples, that for some reason the Holy Spirit changed His nature once the books of the Bible ended. There is absolutely no biblical evidence of that and God’s Word says that He never changes (emphasis mine): God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change—He will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God. (Ps. 55:19) But You remain the same, and Your years will never end. (Ps. 102:27) “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” (Mal. 3:6) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday…

    Monday’s Encouragement: God Hears You

We all wonder, sometimes, if God is actually listening to our prayers. Maybe we’ve been in a trial for a long time. Maybe we’ve been sick or barren or single or without a job or our financial situation is grim – and nothing is changing. Human nature is for us to wonder if God is hearing our prayers at all. And then, sometimes we even wonder if God is real or if we’re believing a lie. We all have times like this, especially when life gets really hard. Today I want to encourage you (and myself) that God always hears us. Throughout His Word, He shows that He hears the…
