The Future of Live, Love and Cherish

Happy new year everyone! I know it’s still a few days away but I won’t be posting again until January 1st and I wanted to post this before 2018. I wanted to let you guys know that I have a new store open and I’d love for you guys to check out the products there! I really think you guys would love them and I’d also love some feedback on them, that way I can get rid of things y’all aren’t interested in and maybe add some things that you guys would love to have. This post is about where I see this blog (and my life) going in 2018,…

    Love Keeps No Record

Unlike Santa Claus (yes, I do know Christmas is over, but only just), who knows who’s naughty and who’s nice and even keeps a list, we aren’t supposed to keep a record of the wrongs that people do to us. We all screw up. We all hurt other people whether intentionally or unintentionally. We can hurt people through our selfishness, and sometimes we can hurt people when we try to “help” them. We think we know what’s best for them and we tell them so, but all it does is put ill will between you. The other person doesn’t appreciate it. I know this is a little off-topic, but I…

    Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I pray you guys all have a great day today! Enjoy time with family, friends, or just on your own with the Lord. Justin and I couldn’t afford to visit family this year, and although we really miss everyone, it is kind of nice to have our first Christmas on our own. I wish we had a Christmas tree and decor (and a white Christmas) but I choose to be content with what we have and happy with what God is doing in our lives. I woke up this morning almost in a panic attack about finances and how are things ever going to change and all…

Book Review: The Power of I Am (Part 3)

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday guys! It was a really stressful day, the kind where it feels like everything wants to go wrong. Then I got a really bad headache and had to lay down. But here it is, a day late! Please enjoy! Well, I promised on my list of awesome Christian books that I would read and review each one, so here I am with my second book review! This one is also by Joel Osteen (the first three are) and is called “The Power of I Am.” I’m going to break down what each chapter is about, but if this sounds like something you’re interested in reading,…

Book Review: The Power of I Am (Part 2)

Well, I promised on my list of awesome Christian books that I would read and review each one, so here I am with my second book review! This one is also by Joel Osteen (the first three are) and is called “The Power of I Am.” I’m going to break down what each chapter is about, but if this sounds like something you’re interested in reading, I strongly recommend you buy it and read it for yourself. He goes into way more detail than I will. I just want to give you an overview of the book and what I think of it. Part One is here! Part Three is…

    Love is Not Easily Angered

Anger is not from God unless it is righteous anger at something worthwhile: for example, you get angry at child abuse and it moves you to do something to stop it. But most of our daily anger issues are not righteous. What does God’s Word say about anger? My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19-20) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.…

    Love is Not Selfish

I was a very self-centered person growing up. I didn’t have many friends because I wanted them to be like me, to agree with my every opinion, to understand that I was right about everything. It sounds terrible, doesn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a terrible person by any means. I still loved people, especially my family, and sometimes I was just too shy to get along with others. There were some people I really liked and wanted to be friends with, but I didn’t have the courage to go talk to them. Still, I was a selfish person. But guess what? So is every human being on…

    Love is Not Rude

I believe rudeness is becoming an epidemic in the world today – or at least in America. I can’t speak for the rest of the world because I haven’t been there yet. The South has always been said to be one of the friendliest parts of the United States, and some people are, but most of the people I see and observe are rude. In my opinion (through observation and lots of thought), it’s because self-centeredness truly is an epidemic. As a species, humans are incredibly selfish. Certainly, we can have moments of selflessness, and some are more or less selfish than others. For example, my husband Justin is far less…

    Movie Review: The Shack

After reading Christian reviews, I refused to see “The Shack” when it first came out. Last night, while I was watching videos on YouTube, my husband found it and decided he wanted to watch it. Without meaning to, I got drawn into the story and ended up turning off my computer and joining him. Please note that there will be spoilers. There is nothing revelational or surprising about the story, so I don’t believe I’ll be spoiling anything honestly. There’s no twist ending or anything like that. But I thought I should throw a warning out there anyway. Plot The main character (Mac) is a farm boy and he and…
