    Living for Christ

This is the last post of my series on sin and, instead of breaking down individual sins or what we should or should not do as Christians, I feel the Lord is leading me instead to talk a bit about personal convictions. There are some things in the Bible that God tells us specifically not to do and if we do them, we are sinning. But, if you are reading God’s Word as should be, you’ll already know what those are and some I’ve already broken down. However, there are some “grey” areas in our lives that the Bible doesn’t specifically talk about and it is those areas that I…

Becoming the Proverbs 31 Woman: Vlog Post

Here is my latest vlog as I continue my series on how we can become the Proverbs 31 woman! I discuss not being lazy, having a great attitude, have self-respect, taking care of your physical and mental health, and several other topics, so don’t miss out! Please Share:

    Sexual Immorality

Sexual immorality is a very big deal in the world today and especially in the church. God talks about it a lot in His Word: there are 23 verses on “sexual immorality”, 45 on “adultery”, and 36 on the word “immoral.” And, of course, there are other ways you can phrase the same concept to find even more verses on these subjects. I could talk a lot about this subject, but most of it would be based on non-Christians and how they live, which is not the point of this blog or this series on sin. As I have said in every post in this series, these posts are all…

    Monday’s Encouragement: Don’t Fear

Growing up I struggled with a lot of fears, some I still have today. Here are just some of the fears I have or used to have, just to give you an idea: pain needles heights bees (or any stinging insect) spiders ants public speaking looking stupid sharks betrayal not being accepted failure As I said, those are just some of the fears. But we can’t go through life being comfortable and never have anything bad happen to us; not in a sinful world anyway. Fear is going to come to all of us. It is one of the ways the enemy wants to manipulate us and stop us from…

    Sunday’s Prayer: For Children

Although I don’t have children of my own yet, though I will in God’s timing, I have plenty of friends and family members with kids and wanted to write out a prayer for them. This prayer is for children of any age. Father God, I pray that You will surround our children with Your protection. Keep them from the dangers of this dark world and surround them with Your angels. I pray also that You will surround them with Your favor. Cause them to prosper and succeed at whatever they do and to have favor with God and man as Jesus did. Finally, I pray that You will bless them…

    Saturday Thoughts: Be Thankful

My thought for today is that we need to learn to be thankful. I know I personally struggle with focusing on my problems instead of focusing on my blessings. Our God is a great, generous, and loving God! Every good thing we receive is from Him. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17) When I start thinking about how I want a nicer home or healthier food or new clothes (my clothes are from about 10 years ago) and I say these things to my husband, Justin, he is quick to remind me of…

    Friday Fun Day: Redbox Movies

Redbox is basically today’s Blockbuster. You can either go to the box and pick out your movie or download it online (though it’s more expensive) and it has all the latest releases! So, if you want something fun to do this Friday night, why not check out these family-friendly movies? Remember: Family-friendly doesn’t mean the movies are for children, rather they aren’t full of as much swearing or sex as I would consider “adult” movies to be. They are rated PG-13 or lower. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle This is the sequel to the original Jumanji movie with an all-new cast of characters. I haven’t seen it yet, though I…

    The Sins from Pride

Pride can be a huge problem in any society, Christian or non-Christian, and I believe the sins from pride are something we all struggle with at some time or another. I’m going to continue my series on sin today with three sins: arrogance, boastfulness, and people without love. I believe all three stem from pride. Let me just remind you guys that these posts are for Christians, those who claim to follow Jesus and believe in God’s Word (the Bible). This is not for non-Christians because I would never try to hold them to the standards of our faith. So, before I break this down, what is pride? The dictionary…

    It’s All About the Attitude

Today I’m continuing my series on sin. If you want to check out other posts in the series you can head over to the beginning of the series where I have links to every subject I’ve written about on sin, though many of them are in the same post (usually 3-5 subjects per post) based on their similarities. Before I begin, let me remind you that I’m addressing Christians, people who claim they are followers of Jesus Christ. None of these posts are for non-Christians because they don’t have the same morals and beliefs as we do. We are to follow God’s Word, therefore I don’t hold non-believers to the same…

Monday Encouragement: God’s Plan is Perfect

There are many times when I question what God’s plan is for my life. Things go wrong or don’t turn out how I expected and I wonder if God is there and knows what’s going on. Did He intend for this to happen? Does He remember my bills or deadlines? Does He know how old I am? Does He remember how long I’ve been waiting for this dream to come to fruition? What we all need to remember is that God’s plan is perfect. Whether we’re in hard times or good times, whether we’re seeing our dreams come true or still feel like we’re wandering in the dark – God…
