    Monday’s Encouragement: God Loves You

Today I just want to give you this incredibly important encouragement: God loves you! No matter what you’ve done, who you are, where you’ve been, God loves you. There is nothing on earth that you could do to make God not love you. God is love. He is not about rules and regulations. When we truly love God, we want to please Him. But all God wants is for us to love Him and have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus. God loves you! If you’ve killed someone – God still loves you. If you’ve had an affair – God still loves you. If you’ve lied – God still…

    Sunday’s Prayer: Our Mouths

Today I am going to pray over our mouths because what we say is so very important. It is all throughout God’s Word that what we speak will come to be – we create reality and especially our own lives, whether good or evil, through what we say. Holy Father, I pray that You will place a guard over our mouths today. Help us to guard our tongues and be very, very careful of what we say. If we shouldn’t say something, please close our mouths and make it impossible for us to speak. I pray that every word that comes from our lips is full of wisdom and righteousness,…

    Saturday Thoughts: Church

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about church. Now, my husband and I attend a church every Sunday, but we didn’t for several months. My parents don’t go to church for a variety of reasons, but mainly my dad’s work schedule which he isn’t in a position to change. And other people I know do go to church every single Sunday yet they live any way they want during the rest of the week. The reason I bring this up is because many Christians are adamant that people have to go to church. “You need to be in church.” And they judge you if you don’t attend church regularly. But I think…

    Friday Fun Day: Netflix Movies

If you are looking for something to watch on Friday movie night, why not check out some of these films currently on Netflix? I’ve seen each one that I’m recommending so I’ll put my own short review as well! This is a seriously awesome Disney film and the first one I can remember that has a “princess” without any prince. There is no love interest, just Moana on an adventure to discover herself and why she is here. It has great songs that you’ll end up singing all day and it’s really a lot of fun. I give it a 9/10. This movie is based on a true story and…

    The Gift of Wisdom

Wisdom truly is a gift from God which is why so many people don’t have it. And not all Christ-followers have this gift either, it is something that God chooses to give to people. So, what exactly is wisdom? Wisdom is knowing what to do with the knowledge that you receive. You see, we all have knowledge. We don’t all have the gift of knowledge so many of us struggle to learn new things. I’ll talk more about that in my post on the gift of knowledge. But we all learn things whether through school, work, books, or life experiences. For example, children learn quickly that if they touch a…

    Gifts of the Spirit

Now that my study on sin for this blog is completed, I asked the Lord what He wanted me to write about next and He told me that His children need to know more about the gifts of the Spirit. So, I turned to 1 Corinthians and Romans, chapter 12 in both, to learn what those gifts are and I am going to write about each one every week. For today, however, I’m going to give you a list of the spiritual gifts I’ll be writing on and a brief overview of each. Wisdom Knowledge Faith Healing Miraculous Powers Prophecy Discernment Speaking in Tongues Interpretation of Tongues Serving Teaching Encouragement…

Monday’s Encouragement: God Has a Plan

One thing God has been teaching me for the past 7 months is that He always has a plan for us. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer. 29:11) 11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. (Eph. 1:11-12) 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had…

    Sunday’s Prayer: For Peace

Today is my 30th birthday! Yay! We all have fears, stress, worries, and anxieties that try to take over our lives and we all need peace. God says that He will give us His peace that surpasses all understanding. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with…

Saturday Thoughts: How to Handle Non-Christians

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we, as followers of Christ, should handle non-Christians. I haven’t been around non-Christians for much of my life until I started ballroom dancing. I grew up around Christians and in the church – even my homeschool group was Christian. After I quit ballroom dancing I was surrounded again by Christians, except when I went to college for a year. But now I am around them again and so I keep asking the Lord what I should do. Non-Christians certainly aren’t terrible people. In fact, the sad truth is that I’ve had more non-Christians be kind to me than I have had “Christians”…
