    Friday Fun Day: Family Activities

When I was growing up I remember times when I had a lot of fun with my family. So, if you’re looking for something to do with your kids this weekend, check out this list! They aren’t all free, but sometimes you can splurge a little! Miniature Golf In almost every city (in America at least) there is a miniature golf course. I loved doing miniature golf, and many of these places also have arcade games, racing, wall-climbing, etc. You could really spend the entire day at one of these places and have an amazing time! There’s usually something for everyone and you can head out when the kids get…

    The Gift of Faith

We all need to exercise faith as followers of Christ. The Bible says that we are to live by faith, not by sight (Rom. 1:17; Gal. 3:11; Heb. 10:38; 2 Cor. 5:7). And for most of us, that is really hard. In fact, I would say it’s the hardest part of being a Christian. One of the things I’ve heard most from non-Christians, on why they don’t want to be saved or why they don’t want to follow Christ, is that they can’t live by faith. They believe what they can see and what can be proven and they expect every question to be answered. But that isn’t how Christianity…

    Announcement

I finally self-published my first book on Amazon! You guys can get it by clicking right here! It’s available on Kindle for right now, though eventually, once my cover is complete, I’m going to have it available in paperback as well. I am so excited you guys!!! I can’t wait to start writing my young adult fantasy novel again and get that published as well. Please keep in mind that my new book is still a semi work-in-progress as the cover photo and description will probably all change as soon as I have the funds to have them professionally done. Until then though, please do support me in this and…

    The Gift of Knowledge

As I continue my series on the gifts of the Spirit, I want to say that there is a difference between knowledge and wisdom, and there is also a difference between having knowledge and having a gift of knowledge. The difference between knowledge and wisdom is that knowledge is defined as “acts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject” while wisdom is defined as “the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment.” Did you catch the keyword in the definition of wisdom? “Application.” You see, we can all have…

    Monday’s Encouragement: God Loves You

Today I just want to give you this incredibly important encouragement: God loves you! No matter what you’ve done, who you are, where you’ve been, God loves you. There is nothing on earth that you could do to make God not love you. God is love. He is not about rules and regulations. When we truly love God, we want to please Him. But all God wants is for us to love Him and have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus. God loves you! If you’ve killed someone – God still loves you. If you’ve had an affair – God still loves you. If you’ve lied – God still…

    Sunday’s Prayer: Our Mouths

Today I am going to pray over our mouths because what we say is so very important. It is all throughout God’s Word that what we speak will come to be – we create reality and especially our own lives, whether good or evil, through what we say. Holy Father, I pray that You will place a guard over our mouths today. Help us to guard our tongues and be very, very careful of what we say. If we shouldn’t say something, please close our mouths and make it impossible for us to speak. I pray that every word that comes from our lips is full of wisdom and righteousness,…

    Saturday Thoughts: Church

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about church. Now, my husband and I attend a church every Sunday, but we didn’t for several months. My parents don’t go to church for a variety of reasons, but mainly my dad’s work schedule which he isn’t in a position to change. And other people I know do go to church every single Sunday yet they live any way they want during the rest of the week. The reason I bring this up is because many Christians are adamant that people have to go to church. “You need to be in church.” And they judge you if you don’t attend church regularly. But I think…

    Friday Fun Day: Netflix Movies

If you are looking for something to watch on Friday movie night, why not check out some of these films currently on Netflix? I’ve seen each one that I’m recommending so I’ll put my own short review as well! This is a seriously awesome Disney film and the first one I can remember that has a “princess” without any prince. There is no love interest, just Moana on an adventure to discover herself and why she is here. It has great songs that you’ll end up singing all day and it’s really a lot of fun. I give it a 9/10. This movie is based on a true story and…

    The Gift of Wisdom

Wisdom truly is a gift from God which is why so many people don’t have it. And not all Christ-followers have this gift either, it is something that God chooses to give to people. So, what exactly is wisdom? Wisdom is knowing what to do with the knowledge that you receive. You see, we all have knowledge. We don’t all have the gift of knowledge so many of us struggle to learn new things. I’ll talk more about that in my post on the gift of knowledge. But we all learn things whether through school, work, books, or life experiences. For example, children learn quickly that if they touch a…

    Gifts of the Spirit

Now that my study on sin for this blog is completed, I asked the Lord what He wanted me to write about next and He told me that His children need to know more about the gifts of the Spirit. So, I turned to 1 Corinthians and Romans, chapter 12 in both, to learn what those gifts are and I am going to write about each one every week. For today, however, I’m going to give you a list of the spiritual gifts I’ll be writing on and a brief overview of each. Wisdom Knowledge Faith Healing Miraculous Powers Prophecy Discernment Speaking in Tongues Interpretation of Tongues Serving Teaching Encouragement…
