    A Few Thoughts

I know I already posted today and this post won’t be long, I just wanted to share some thoughts and things I learned just this morning while I was volunteering. Justin and I have been praying for a very long time for God to bless our finances. We need a financial miracle, to be perfectly honest, and we’ve been praying for 9 months and don’t really seem to have had any answers. I was beginning to think that maybe God wasn’t listening to my prayers anymore. But then, just today, He reminded me that He is still listening and He is always faithful. It was a small thing, but it…

    Through God’s Eyes

When my mom was raising me she asked God to help her see through my eyes. To this day she says that it made her a better mom. I believe we need to ask God the same for our husbands. We need to ask Him to help us see through our husband’s eyes. But we also need to ask God to help us see through His eyes. Not only should we learn to see ourselves as God sees us, but we need to see our husbands as God sees them. It’s easy to find faults in our husbands, to see only the things they do wrong. But we need to…

    Love Always Perseveres

We’re almost done with my series on love and I’m excited to start writing my book again about this subject! I can’t wait to get more in-depth. But, in the meantime, we’re going to continue with this series today on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 with “Love always perseveres.” First, what does it mean to persevere? Well, the dictionary defines it as to “continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.” That sounds like many of our lives, doesn’t it? My first thought when I read that was, “Do we even have a choice? Don’t we have to persevere?” But…

    Love Always Hopes

Today I am continuing my series on love based off 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. And I want to talk about hope. Hope is a vital part of any life, Christian or non-Christian, because without hope we give up on life. People who commit suicide have lost all hope. But God wants us to live each day filled with hope and if we want to learn to walk in love, we have to learn how to get and keep hope in our lives no matter what trials or storms come. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm…

My First Vlog! “Love Always Protects”

I decided to start doing vlog posts once a week, every Tuesday. This is my first one ever! This is a continuation of my love series from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Check it out below or on YouTube! Here is the Scripture (Ephesians 4:17-32) I mentioned in the video: 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so…

    Love Rejoices in the Truth

Today we’re continuing my series on love taken from the scripture 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. What is truth? In society today truth seems to be whatever one wants it to be. If I want to believe something, it’s true to me. But is that really truth? What if my truth says that your truth is wrong? Does that still make it true? According to Webster’s dictionary truth is: “the quality or state of being true” “that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality” “a fact or belief that is accepted as true” So, I ask again. What is truth? Truth is not subjective. How can it be? If…

Love Does Not Rejoice in Evil

In today’s post, I’m going to continue my study of love found in the Bible passage of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. I want to focus on the verse, “Love does not rejoice in evil.” I guess our first question is, what is evil? Let’s look at the Word of God. 20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” (Mark 7:20-23)  29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They…

    Love Keeps No Record

Unlike Santa Claus (yes, I do know Christmas is over, but only just), who knows who’s naughty and who’s nice and even keeps a list, we aren’t supposed to keep a record of the wrongs that people do to us. We all screw up. We all hurt other people whether intentionally or unintentionally. We can hurt people through our selfishness, and sometimes we can hurt people when we try to “help” them. We think we know what’s best for them and we tell them so, but all it does is put ill will between you. The other person doesn’t appreciate it. I know this is a little off-topic, but I…
