There are times in everyone’s life where you just want to give up. Maybe you’re sick and you don’t want to fight it anymore. Maybe you and your husband are struggling in your marriage and you just don’t want to try anymore. Maybe you’re struggling in your finances and you’re tired of being in debt, tired of believing for better days and you are ready to give up and settle where you are. Maybe it has been years and your dream still hasn’t come to pass, you aren’t accomplishing enough goals, you’re feeling trapped and stagnant and you think it’s safer to just give up on your dreams and stay with what you’ve got. Maybe you’ve been trying to lose weight or live a healthier lifestyle but you get on that scale and nothing seems to have changed and you’re tired of trying. Wherever you are, you feel discouraged and unmotivated. I know because I’ve been there many times throughout my life and especially through the trials of this past year.
Here is what I am saying to you and to myself today: Don’t give up!!!!!
If you’re sick today, keep believing and praying for that miracle healing until you either receive it or go home to be with the Lord!
If you’re struggling in your marriage today, read books on how to love one another. “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman is an awesome resource or you can check out my own book “Love: What is it really?” If implementing what you learn in those books doesn’t help, get Christian marriage counseling!
If you’re struggling in your finances today, ask God for miracles. God wants us to ask Him for big things and believe big things because He is a big, miracle-working God of the impossible! Figure out a budget and stick to it. Ask the Lord what He wants you to do next: how can you get out of debt yourself, or how will He work a miracle in your life and deliver you from the debt? Keep doing your best and asking for big things!
If you’re struggling to wait for your dream today, put on encouraging Christian teaching, sing praise music, spend time with the Lord. Ask big and believe big. Never give up hope! If God has placed the dream in your heart, you can be assured that He will bring it to pass. Ask yourself, “What can I do today to help achieve that dream?” Do what you can and trust God to take care of the rest!
If you’re struggling with losing weight or living healthier today, take things one day at a time. Set small goals each day or each week. Focus on what you can do today minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour from the time you wake up until you go back to sleep. Say no to your flesh when you crave the wrong things. Do some exercise every day, at least 30 minutes, whether you go to a gym, go for a walk, do some yoga, whatever it is, just get moving. Don’t beat yourself up if you mess up! Just get up tomorrow and start it over again! Being healthy is a daily journey.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. (Heb. 10:36)
Wherever you are, whatever your struggle, don’t give up! Turn to God! Ask Him to help you, to guide you, to heal you, to restore you, to work miracles in your life! Our God can and will handle all our problems! He is the God of the impossible (Matt.19:26), the God of miracles (Job 5:8-9), the God of more than enough (Ps. 66:12)! He is our Provider (Gen. 22:8,14), our Protector (Ps. 5:11), our Shepherd (Ps. 23:1), our Healer (Isa. 53:5), our good Father (Matt. 7:11). Give all your struggles to Him and He will take care of you. We need to learn to trust Him, to let go and rely on Him alone.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)
God loves you and He loves me. He has amazing plans for us if we will just keep moving forward and trust His plan and His timing. Remember two things:
- The enemy attacks the hardest right before we come into our breakthrough because he wants us to quit before we can receive it.
- Things will always get better. Life is a rollercoaster and we’ll have our highs and lows, but we won’t stay in either place forever. It has come to pass!
So, my dear precious reader, don’t give up! Keep holding tightly to our wonderful God! Hold on to your life, hold on to your loved ones, hold on to your dreams! Don’t let go! Don’t give up!
I love you guys and I’ll be praying for you! Let me know if you have any specific prayer requests and I would also love to know what God is doing in your lives!
Have a blessed rest of the week!
