My Mission and Vision

I created this blog with a mission in mind, and the longer I write it, the more vision the Lord brings to my heart that He wants me to do with it.

To connect Christian married women from around the world

Because I work from home, I don’t go out very often. This is becoming more and more popular because freelancing, e-commerce, and other online businesses are taking over from brick and mortar businesses of yesteryear. That means that people aren’t connecting like they used to. But God’s Word tells us that it’s important that we get together.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (James 5:16)

That’s just a few of the Scriptures. Clearly, we’re meant to fellowship with one another, but sometimes doing so in person just isn’t possible. We have busy lives and many just don’t have time. But we always have time to go online through social media. That’s why I want to connect married Christian women all around the world through this blog: through posts, through the forum that I’m adding next year, through a chat that I will also add next year, through email, through social media. I want us all to connect with one another.

Build up and edify one another

I write blog posts because God gave me a gift for writing and I don’t want to just write fictional novels. I want to use my gift for His glory. I want my posts to reach people, to touch hearts, and to be used by the Lord in whatever manner is best to fit His will. I want us to grow as women, to grow as wives, to grow as mothers. I want us to be healthy physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Add more to my “Get Healthy” section

My posts in 2017 have been pretty scattered. My goal for 2018 is to be more organized and post certain types of content on certain days. One of the areas I really want to expand is my “Get Healthy” section. You see, I really want to make all my own all-natural, organic products for me and my family. And I want to add posts that reflect that. Show you what happens when I create and use them, if they work or don’t work, etc. I want more vegetarian recipes (adapted to my family’s use), how to cook on a budget, etc. But I also want to focus on our emotional and mental health. Being healthy isn’t just a physical thing. I want posts on how we can improve our minds and learn to control and harness our emotions.

Grow my shop

After Christmas, I opened up my first e-commerce store. To start it only has items shipped from overseas. But that isn’t where I want it to stay. As much as I like those items (otherwise I wouldn’t sell them) I would prefer to host products created by my readers. I would like them to be made in the USA, but if my readers are from other countries, I wouldn’t turn down their products either. I just want healthy, home-made, original products made by Christian women who love what they do. Of course, 10% of my profits go to Joel Osteen’s ministry (that’s who I tithe to) and also a portion of all profits will go to Alley Cats Allies because cats are very near and dear to my heart and I believe it is a worthy cause. Later on, I will add other nonprofits to donate to, but for now, I only have the one.

Be a blessing

Right now my husband and I aren’t making much money. But as our income grows, our giving will grow too. Through Tara Outdoors we give to the Wounded Warrior Project, through my store I give to Alley Cats Allies, and any profit we make we always tithe 10% which goes to Joel Osteen’s ministry. However, I want to give to more nonprofits and ministries. As I said, when our income grows, our giving will grow too. I want to give to Joyce Meyer, to the ASPCA, and I want to find ministries for the homeless, to feed children, etc. Justin and I both having giving hearts which is why we want more money, so we can be a bigger blessing.

Begin a ministry

Although I haven’t started it yet, I would eventually like to start my own ministry. I don’t know what medium it will use, probably writing as that is my forte, but I’m sure it will cross over into other things. I have always had a dream to write nonfiction books as well as devotionals and bible studies. In 2018, I’d like to focus on that. When the Lord reveals more on this subject, I’ll add it here. Right now it’s just a vague notion of what I want this blog to build up into one day.

Podcast and Videos

One day I would love to have my own podcast and videos. I am not the kind of person who enjoys being in the spotlight, but I do know that they are an effective tool that I am not currently utilizing because it’s outside my comfort zone. In the coming years, I want to focus more on those areas and get used to using them for God’s glory. As in the area above, I don’t know too much about this right now. It’s just something God has placed on my heart and I have to learn more before I put it here.

Travel the World

Eventually, I would also like this blog to include a travel section. I’m going to write about the places Justin and I travel to and what it’s like to live there, raise children on the “road”, moving every year, etc. I think this will wait until 2019 when we move to England. But it is definitely part of my mission for this blog.
